Hi all,

Have a strange thing happening to my caps after they have been included in variant of the IRO I foun dit on Youtube under Shlodo's SSG Imhotep Radiant Oscillator.

I have followed his circuit and it will light multiple clf's, it will also lite a "normal" floro tube (20w) which will light if in the circuit by itself but if added with a cfl in series the small cfl lights but the floro will stop.

Anyway, today after testing the normal floro I shorted the cap's (2 x 250v 470uf in series) and put it aside while I put my gear away, to be safe I attempted to short the caps again, in which I was glad i did because the spark seemed significant. So I pulled out the volt meter and wolla, the caps were obtaining a charge without being cnnected to anything. Now the interesting thing is, is that it actually got up to around 26v over a period of 2 minutes or so, before I shorted it again, and it/they continued to charge again. Strangely the first cap in the series had a positive voltage the second cap had a negative voltage.

Has anyone seen this behaviour before and is it normal. From my understanding this is not. After approx 15 minutes the "self charging" reduced and reversed.

I am a noob to electronics so this maybe normal behaviour for a cap after being in a circuit like this but I found it very strange and had to ask someone, if they have seen it before

Cheers

This may be an artifact of RE (radiant energy) flowing without conductors, as demonstrated by Tesla and others.
Spark gaps and such, do a google and find more info. Some youtube is available also... check it out!
