We don't have RS around here anymore if i want an 275-001 an they seem to ship US only if i go online ! ...Don't know if you guys have a Bosh part number that i could work around or something else like a NAPA or Car Quest ,Canadian Tire part anything ??? :(

I have 3 relay here that i experiment ... (2 last from Volkswagen car)

1 one is sealed 5 pin ... an voltage coming from it wile charging a 280V cap only goes to approx 40V an voltage jump up an down like a charge discharge ...this one must have some kind of diode or resistance inside messing things up ...

2 one i barely got 17V on the same cap ... Would need to modified inside as it also got some resistor but coil is rather small to move on !!!

3 one is the best at 58V store on the cap and seems to charge way faster than the no.2 but coil is also bigger but not as big as the RS 275-001 you guys are using ...

I'm kinda new to this but did some of you ever tried a car starter relay or solenoid ??? Not sure if it would also work but its way bigger ?

You need to see if these have the diode, and remove it. Should work after that!
A 5 pin relay is what is needed, better than the RS relay...

Update on this !

I just striped those 2 VW relay and unsolder everything ,one of them had a timer chip in it so no wonder  !

Now both of them load my capacitor to 225V and until my 500V range voltmeter goes to 1500 and gives me an error when it hits 2000 volts !!!

The one with the bigger coil does charge faster so I'm wondering if some of you ever built bigger model to test like a solenoid (if it works...) or home made coil ?

I had a post about a series-parallel coil setup, using a standard size relay with extra coils attached.
This is supposed to act the same as a larger coil. Check linky-link below!!!

Good Luck WABO!
