Look after it.

The following is not in any particular order.

Do not overcharge.

do not over discharge.

Do not leave it in a discharged state.

Keep it at room temperature as excess heat or cold shortens the life of a battery.

Check the electrolyte level and do not let it get too low or overfill it.

Charge and discharge it at the C20 rate

Radiant charge it to desulphate the plates and reduce dendrite formation.

Check the specific gravity when the battery is charged fully as this will show if there is a problem and adjust id required.

Keep it clean as dirt and moisture can cause the battery to discharge.

OK
Seems I have violated most of these in my move from another town.
What can I do to save these batteries Mik?
LMK soon, I have some time off and need to get them going again.

Thx
Rob

The IRO is very good at bringing batteries back especially if slaved to an ignition coil

K Mik!
Is that a series or parallel connection?
Got a schematic?

I have several ideas but I bet this is a specific circuit...

I just put an ignition coil in parallel with the relay coil, take note of the polarity one direction gives bigger spikes than the other. The effect isn't as big as JLN gets here http://jnaudin.free.fr/html/biftest.htm but it is bigger.
