OK, people, 1 major thing I found,
discharge batteries (12V) to 10.0 volts then recharge with radiant energy...
*NOTE* This is for Lead Acid

Check out my posts on working with batteries.

I have found it depends upon the type of battery

Have any of you attempted replicating the Imhotep Car Relay modification? Now that Tandys has gone bankrupt in NSW I can't get a Radio Shack YH185B anywhere. Is there a Bosch or Jaycar substitute? In Imhotep's video he mentions a normally closed Bosch Car Relay requires no modification but neglects to mention a part number for a particular Bosch relay (or how to wire it up properly) and the local guys at Repco look at you like you just arrived from Mars if you ask them anything specific about car electronics. Some help would be much appreciated, cheers.

I tried relay version with some modification:

I use cheap 12V relay.

Spark make me abandon relay charger, supressing spark proven to be inefficient method, you won't get charger. By going solid state, I now can charge 6 times faster than commercial charger. 1000mAh in 15 minutes with 350mA output.

Thank you very much for the information. I'm great with mechanical engineering and architecture but I'm a novice when it comes to electronic engineering. Cheers :D
